Privacy Policy

FairwayPlan is built to help golfers plan great trips across New Zealand. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. We've kept it short and plain — no legal maze.
What we collect
When you plan a trip, we collect only what's needed to generate your itinerary:
- Your selected NZ regions and travel dates
- Golf preferences — tee time, rounds per day, affiliation type
- Daily golf intent (Definite / Likely / Maybe / Rest Day)
- Approximate budget range
We do not collect your name, email address, payment details, or any account information. No account is required to use FairwayPlan.
How we use it
Your trip data is used solely to generate and display a golf itinerary. It is processed by our route optimiser and weather service, both of which run on our own infrastructure. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the itinerary you requested.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your trip data with any third parties. Weather data is fetched from public forecast APIs; no personal information is sent to them.
Data retention
Generated itineraries are stored in our database so you can retrieve them via your trip code. This data is held temporarily and is not linked to any personal identity. If you'd like your itinerary data deleted, email us at [email protected] with your trip code and we'll remove it promptly.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access information held about you and to request corrections. Because we don't collect identifying information, there is very little we could link back to you — but if you have any concerns, reach out and we'll help.
